Teaching Philosophy
As an educator, my biggest goal is to create a classroom environment where my students feel genuinely welcome, supported, and safe to express their ideas. I want my classes to be spaces where everyone, no matter their background, race, or beliefs, feels comfortable giving and receiving critique, asking questions, and growing creatively without judgment.
I’m committed to staying up-to-date with emerging technologies, design tools, and industry trends so my students graduate feeling confident and job-ready. I design assignments that not only teach technical skills but also help students build strong portfolio pieces they can proudly showcase. I also regularly share competitions, exhibitions, and award opportunities to encourage students to put themselves out there and build resumes that stand out.
Beyond software and tools, a huge part of my teaching is focused on developing students’ design thinking, problem-solving, and professional critique skills. I want them to understand the real processes used in the design industry and to feel empowered as thoughtful, prepared, and independent designers.
Ultimately, my teaching philosophy centers around growth, community, and opportunity, helping students build both their skills and their confidence as future creative professionals.
